Thats short for "airport development fund".

If you have any reason to go to Delhi on your next trip, you may like to know that you will have to pay 221 rps per person on all internal flights every time you fly out of Delhi airport (ADF). this has to be paid before hand. so make sure you organise it through the airline or travel agent you booked the flight/s with.

This also counts for international flights too, the cost for flying out is 1434 rps in that instance.

This is for Delhi airport ONLY....

We got caught out 3 years ago leaving Dehli for Heathrow they wouldn't let us check in until we paid it. That was in the March and we only booked our tickets the week before we travelled with Southall Travel. The following December we flew home via Dehli again but it must have been included as no mention was made.

Yes we have been advised of this and it asks you to log into the airline website and pay it, but as we booked with cleartrip the airline website doesn't recognise the PNR. I guess when we check in at goa we can pay it then...

Just re-read "Cleartrip's" e-mail.

They have said it would be better to pay in advance to avoid a large queue at the airport. this can be done by phoning the airline you are travelling with.

Chelseawolves, you only have to pay the ADF when flying OUT of Delhi.

A similar 'toll fee' has been in place at Bangalore since the new airport opened there. Think it cost about £2 or £3 equivalent, payment allowed by credit card. PFI initiatives .....

The ADF charge was stopped at Mumbai and Delhi airports in April after the Supreme Court ruled it was illegal, there must have been another court hearing if it is going to start again in December
