Revel continuing their “Food Walk.”

I guess it’s a hit for them as emails are going out again for Revel’s hallway food stands for this weekend. Upper level player cardholding customers again get free tickets. We had a free lunch snack there last week. Here’s their deal:

>>>”Food Walk located on the Casino floor at City Way entrance from Self-Park.

1 ticket $5 | 5 tickets $20

Fri. 2pm-11pm

Sat. 12noon – 12 midnight

Sun. 11am-5pm

MAMBO ITALIANO Conquer your taste buds with handcrafted gnocchi served in a tomato-fennel broth

THE BOARDWALK DOG Hot Dog served in a potato bun with condiments. Say no more!

JAMAICAN BEEF PATTY Mango –Pineapple Chutney

ROASTED CHICKEN TAMALE Served with assorted condiments. Ole!

GYOZA LOVE Chicken Potsticker with assorted condiments

HOT FRESH DOUGHNUTS with snow white sugar

ICE CREAM SUNDAE assorted Ice Cream Pops

AGUA FRESCA & COLD BEVERAGE BARS water, sodas”<<<

Last week the chicken items were best. If paying I suggest against the $5 drinks or doughnuts. The hot dogs were also overpriced in any real world, but they were not bad—and this is from someone who usually avoids such junk ;-)

I noticed that they changed out one item - the empanada is now a tamale. Everything else is the same. Guess the empanadas weren't a hit. I thought it was kind of dry myself.

I'm glad to see them doing this again. There were plenty of people enjoying it when we were there last Saturday and obviously most people don't go every weekend so if you missed it last week, you have another chance this week.

I think that once again they are endeavoring to respond to some of the criticisms that have been voiced regarding the lack of casual dining options. To me, it's a good thing that they are offering more options. If people aren't interested, they can pass on this, but I don't think it's ever a bad thing to have more options--especially when many are getting these additional options for free with the comped coupons. I would expect that next they will be addressing the breakfast options (since it sounds like there is currently a dearth of options for morning dining). Overall, they seem to be moving in the right direction by responding to customer suggestions. It's not always happening at the pace that people want, but slowly/surely they seem to be getting there. They've come a long way from where they were in April both in terms of gaming and dining improvements.

The new Luke Palladino casual takeaway place is opening in July. This seems to be a way for them to bridge the gap.
