Public transportation from PHL to AC with luggage...

I was reading some older posts about taking the train(s) from Philadelphia airport to AC. How luggage-friendly is that method? Will likely have a checked bag plus carryon tote/computer.

Also, I read somewhere about utilizing a bus for a casino bonus, not sure where I can find more specific information about that?

Thanks in advance!!

Here is the link from the stickie on the right of the screen tripadvisor.com/Travel-g60795-c122798/Philad… I have never been on SEPTAs airport line, but there is plenty of overhead luggage storage on the NJTransit AC line

If you transfer to a bus from the airport line, I believe Market East is closest with a 3 or so block walk once you get above ground. the bus initially costs more upfront [$15 bus vs $10 train] to get slot$ back. IMHO, you're better off on the AC line, it's more spacious and you wont have to worry if there's a traffic backup

You shouldn't have a problem with luggage on the SEPTA train.

Luggage on Septa is pretty easy. I've done the airport run several times and have never had a problem. I also always take NJ Transit train from Philly to AC and again, no problem.

On SEPTA, it depends on the model of the train car and how crowded the train is. Some train cars have spaces where you could put a suitcase that you can't get onto the overhead rack because it's either too heavy or too big (the overhead rack is not very wide). Or you could put the suitcase on the seat next to you if no one wants to sit there. SEPTA trains have three-seat benches on one side of the aisle and two-seat benches on the other, so if you were able to get one of the three-person benches to yourself, it would probably work for you and the suitcase.

Both of these options would be a lot more difficult on a crowded train. I generally don't see a lot of people getting on and off the Airport line trains, which makes me think they're not usually very crowded, but I can't say for sure.

I agree you can put the case in the seat. I've also had people help lift my case onto the shelf.
