Harrah's or Showboat

I had a post earlier about going to atlantic city in june but because of his job we had to take it sooner. were going in march and the rates aren't that bad. the difference in harrah's (waterfront) and showboat (premium) is around $70. plus were staying sun-thurs, so which is the best place to book? just note were looking to gamble a bit , mostly relax (that whether inside our room or out and about) and enjoy the surroundings.

I'm a Boardwalk guy. That's all I can tell you. I never relax in AC,stay up way too late and gamble, gamble, gamble. But,if you want to get out and about,A stroll down the boards is great.Lots to see and do.Have to reccomend Showboat.

I might have picked Showboat since its cheaper and on the boardwalk, however, you can't beat the pool at Harrahs... its so awesome...and you can always take the shuttle to the boardwalk..

I second the Showboat. It is on the boardwalk. March weather can be nice on the afternoon. You are going to want to get out and sight see. And if the weather should be not so nice Showboat,Taj Mahal and Resorts are connected by an inside walkway.

I understand some like the marina district where Harrahs,Borgota and the Golden nugget are. However besides the casinos there is very little else there. I feel isolated in the Marina district.

I have a feeling that you will enjoy a boardwalk casino like Showboat more.

I too am usual a boardwalk person but I think you would really enjoy Harrah's, especially if you take advantage of the indoor pool. Since it's March, weather can be hit or miss but you can always take a jitney to the boardwalk or the outlets

i would think the answer depends on if your a pool person or not. showboat only has a small outdoor pool (which i doubt is open in march ) or the very nice indoor pool at harrahs. you can always take the jitney to the boardwalk for trips everyday. if you have no interest in pool, go for showboat.

I agree with Melissa. Harrah's has a great, relaxing indoor pool. If you would want to spend some time at the pool during the day, stay at Harrah's. If the pool doesn't interest you, I think the boardwalk is a much better location and atmosphere.

I don't believe that we would be using the pool

I'd go with Showboat, too, especially if it's cheaper and you won't be going in the pool.

I agree, unless the pool is crucial, go with Showboat. Enjoy & let us know how you do.
