I don't think they go on tuesdays. Your best option price and timewise would be to go to Split by bus (buses go every hour from bus terminal and it takes about 4 hours to get to Split). From there you take either a ferry or a fast boat to Hvar. They operate aprox. every 1-3 hours in the season.
Have fun, Jernej
Bus or car up to Drvenik and then ferry across to Sucuraj (only a short journey by ferry) then drive or bus across Hvar to Hvar town if that is where you want to get to on Hvar.
In May, I'll be flying from Dubrovnik to Split, spend two nights there, then take the ferry to Hvar.
The flight takes only 35 mins, and costs around 35 Euro (min) depends on the time of the flight.
This works better for me, than spending 4 hours on the bus.
But if you need to get to Hvar right away, taking the flight to Split may not help a lot.
Thanks everyone. Getting to Split and then ferry to Hvar sounds best fall back option. Still hopeful of being able to pay someone with a boat to take us from Korcula to Hvar. We did this in Turkey a few years back - went to the marinas and hired a boat with a skipper. There are 8 of us so we have some collective resources. Does anyone know if this is a goer in Croatia and in particular Korcula?
Thanks barry - what about taking the bus to Drvenik and taking the ferry over from there? my hotel travel-desk person tells me of this other option.
But then the problem would be getting from Sucaraj to Hvar town. I don't think there is much public transport from Sucaraj so that will be a problem once you get out there.
