16 Hour transit in Nadi Airport - Fiji

Hi All, me and my brother are flying to LA from Melbourne and we have a connection in fiji. However we have a 16 hour transit in Nadi. Someone recommends any activity to do during 10 hours near fiji (counting 3 hours to go through customs and immigration back and forward) Probably a beach or a nice hourly-rate motel with a pool. Any advise?

Will not take long in immigration and customs going in and out. Not a busy airport. You can store your luggage at the airport in lockers on arrival. First Landing resort is a goid place to transit. Not too far. Nice pool, day spa, you can book a day room and use all the resorts facilities. Suggest you pre book onlline. Next door to Vuda Marina with yacht club, where you can have a meal or a drink. 15 mins from the airport by taxi.

The beaches aren't great around Nadi. In my opinion it's best to book a cheap hotel and enjoy the pool and and an air-conditioned room. Tokatoka Resort Hotel is close to the aiport (about 1km) and has a nice pool and bar area with decent rooms. If that's above budget then there's also the Aquarius On The Beach which is about 2km from the airport and a little cheaper.

Aquarius o the Beach is nice with a water outlook (although not the white sand/blue waters of the islands) and beach plus small pool. Lovely staff, good food and drinks and not too far to go to get there. When we stayed there were horses to hire right out front on the beach plus various water activities or visit one of the nearby small accommodation places (one next door, another a couple of properties down) for a different vibe. If you pay a full nights accommodation they used to supply the airport to hotel transfer for free (but not the return trip which was about FJ$14 at the time). One of their basic rooms should set you back about US$50 which will give you a place to stash your luggage, have a lie down, shower etc and then enjoy the other facilities. Small place but nice...

Further to above - their website appears to be having a glitch at the moment but they're also on FB if you want to check it out...

Takes about 30 too 40 mins. Max to clear immigration and customs coming in. You need to check back in about 2 hrs prior to flight (flights check in closes 1 hour prior). You have a white sand beach at First Landing resort. Much nicer, maybe a little more expensive for a day room than other suggestions but overall worth it. A mainland resort with an island feel, lovely views out to the Mamanuca Islands. Never crowded.
