What is the cheapest and safest taxi transfer from the international airport to San Bernadino area of Caracas
Hi Kay
Here in Venezuela is most important the safest than cheapest, take a taxi inside the airport. There are official taxis that you can take without problems
Edited: 8 years agoCan your host arrange a pick up for you? That would be my preferred option and we did this just last week.
Saw this one late. OK, I have a question for you. How much is your luggage worth to you? That's what you'll lose if you take the wrong cab. Take the official airport cabs that are in line right outside the airport doors. Don't pay attention to even uniformed and serious-looking cab drivers that approach you elsewhere. Anyway, if you want to play it totally safe, get an airport pick-up. It's one of the best cheap investments you'll ever make.
Edited: 8 years agoI'd go safe not cheap. I know of a travel writer whose very well-traveled father recently took a taxi from the airport that turned out not to be an "official" taxi and he was beaten to within an inch of his life and left on the side of the road and suffered permanent damage from it.
Simply google General José Antonio Anzoátegui International Airport or Aeropuerto General José Antonio Anzoátegui and you'll find many pictures. There's also Youtube videos.

I've used that airport from Miami a number of times.
When you come out of your International flight after Imigration & Customs just turn right and you'll immediately find the Avior counter to check-in to the Porlamar flight.
I had guests last week and more arriving on Monday who arrived / arriving on the Miami / Barcelona / PMV without problems.
Good luck
I used taxitocaracas.com not only for a taxi from CCS to my hotel, but as a guide my ENTIRE time in Caracas., I highly recommend!
I was there in July of this year. You can can see my photos and blog, even some videos, here:
Some travel agencies in Venezuela have pickup airport services. It is better.
