LIMa in 44 hours

We are arriving in Lima on a Friday in July around 8:30 PM, leaving for Cuzco on Tuesday at 4 PM

We have about 44 hours in the city.

Plan is to see main cusco Cathedral, miroflores area, magical water fountain show.

Can you please suggest where we should live, near the cathedral or miroflores.

We are a family of four-budget $250 a night

Is there a hop on hop off bus available

or taxis should be the way of transportation

your input is appreciated.

Thank you

I suggest you stay in Miraflores. It's safer and prettier, and it's directly on the ocean. There are many Air BnBs that you could get there. Taxis are very cheap here... for a family of 4 from Miraflores to the center of Lima or to the Fountain Park should be 20 soles or less ($7). The bus system is very crowded and does not have a posted map or schedule. The bus is great if you are here for a while, but it would probably be more frustrating that it's worth to use it for that short amount of time.

SG, just curious. You arrive friday 830 pm. And leave Tuesday for Cusco 4 pm. This gives you at least 3 full days. It is not 44 hours. So you really have lots of time to go around Lima.
