where to go???

Hello,

My wife and I have spent the past few weeks trying to plan an itinerary for out two week trip to Indonesia.

So far we have planned to go from Denpensar through the Gili isles for some diving then to Flores via the volcano before Komodo island but we are struggling to make up our mind where to head from here?

It seems expensive to fly to the east of Indonesia and we really want to find some secluded beaches on a different island so that we get to see more of Indonesia.

I have looked at flights with wings, merpati, lion, air asia and express air but routes seem quite limited.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

many thanks

Doug and Lu.

You will need to supply a bit more information than what you have given.

For instance going to Flores via" the volcano" gives us very little information to work on.

Do you mean Rinjani? Are you then going by boat to Labuan Bajo? Or did you intend to come back to Bali and fly to Maumere and see the volcano craters at Kelimutu?

Whatever you have planned it is easier and cheaper to book internal flights once you are here.

3. Re: where to go???

thanks for your replies cempaka and theo.

We arrive in Denpensar and then plan to do our PADI on Gili Meno before visiting Rinjani volcano and making our way overland to Sape before heading to the Komodo Islands. (Are the crater lakes at kelimutu worth visiting from here?)

Ideally from here we are looking to find an area of secluded islands somewhere else in Indonesia so that we can visit another area, relax and do some diving.

With so many islands it is hard to focus on a relaxed location. We have considered ampat and banda islands but these are difficult and expensive to reach with our limited time in indonesia.

We are looking for another set of nice islands on sulawesi, sumatra or java as these are far cheaper and easier to reach.

any ideas?

many thanks.

If you like diving you can consider Bunaken in North Sulawesi

There are direct flights from Denpasar, Jakarta and Singapore to Manado, which is the closest city to Bunaken (about 1 hour)

Roni,

How can I get in touch with you? We will be in Pekanbaru and want to go to Bukittinggi the first week of Jan 2012 and want to hire a driver/guide. Can you help?
