Are you already booked into this hotel?

It's located in Sha Tin (New Territories), so, you're a bit "far" from the usual HK Island or Kowloon hotels, where most tourists would usually stay.

You're only five minutes walk away to Sha Tin Wai MTR Station, and the free hotel shuttle bus will take you to Sha Tin MTR Station, which is handy. They do offer an airport shuttle bus service, but, its usually cheaper just to take a public airport bus instead - A41: www.kmb.com.hk/english.php… which will drop you off opposite your hotel.

The places of interest that are in Sha Tin include: Sha Tin Racecourse: discoverhongkong.com/eng/attractions/nt-shat… - Check here for the race fixtures: www.hkjc.com/english/racing/fixture.asp (Just select the relevant month you'll be in HK), Hong Kong Heritage Museum: http://www.heritagemuseum.gov.hk/eng_main.htm , Che Kung Temple: discoverhongkong.com/eng/attractions/culture… , Ten Thousand Buddhas Monastery - See here for HK Extras' suggestions for a trip to Sha Tin: hongkongextras.com/explore_shatin_wongshek_s…

Good luck with your planning and have a GREAT trip! :)

If you're taking the hotel's shuttle bus from the Airport to the hotel, its generally not free and costs quite a bit. Having said that, I don't know what the Regal Riverside will provide (whether or not its free), so, its best to contact them directly to ask about their prices, if any. If there's a charge, do consider catching a taxi or a public airport bus instead.

On the other hand, the hotel provides a free shuttle bus to and from Sha Tin MTR Station and New Town Plaza, but that's only within the Sha Tin area, and not to the Airport (that's something completely different).

I would say that the Regal Riverside is relatively far from Novotel Citygate because Novotel Citygate is about ten minutes away from the Airport, so, its about a similar distance as if you were going from the Airport to Regal Riverside.

- Take a taxi

- Take the MTR: Catch the free hotel shuttle bus to Sha Tin Station, where you head to Kowloon Tong, and transfer onto the green Kwun Tong line and get off at either Mongkok Station or Prince Edward Station to transfer onto the orange Tung Chung line, getting off at the last stop, which is Tung Chung (I wouldn't go for this option, if you have lots of luggage)

- Take a bus (which one, I'm not sure, sorry!)

If you don't mind me asking, are you staying at both these hotels or are you still planning?

Good luck and have an AMAZING time in HK! :)

Correction for the MTR route:

- Take the free hotel shuttle bus to Sha Tin Station, where you get onto the MTR until you reach Kowloon Tong. From there, you transfer onto the green Kwun Tong line and get off at either Mongkok Station or Prince Edward Station, where you transfer onto the red Tsuen Wan line until you reach Lai King, where you hop onto the orange Tung Chung line, getting off at the last stop, which is Tung Chung.

I would take a taxi (or two) to go from Tung Chung to Sha Tin, especially, given that you'll have luggage. There's just simply too many transfers for you to do, if you're going via the MTR. A taxi will be the most direct option, and you can spread the taxi fare (plus $5.00HKD per piece of luggage) across each person, so, it won't be one huge lump sum per person. Some taxis allow five people, but, a lot of the newer taxis (or some of the old ones) only allow four people.

Good luck with your planning and have a GREAT trip! :)
