Layover- Bogota airport.

I have a bit of a layover flying to Peru next week and was wondering if the airport shops/food and drink areas accept US dollars. I won't be there THAT long and didn't want to have to exchange cash or use plastic.

When you pass through security and immigration to enter the international terminal there are a number of shops and most will take dollars. There are also two restaurants in the international terminal that I believe will take dollars. I am not sure if the shops outside of the security and immigration area for international flights will take dollars. Also, I am not sure if you will go directly to the international terminal upon arrival or if you have to go through immigration and then re-enter the secure area for international flights.

I can't remember specifically the Bogota airport, but I also can't remember ANY airport in South America that didn't take dollars. Some shops even used the dollar price on the items specifically. And on the ferry I just took between Argentina and Uruguay, the dollar was the preferred currency on board the ship.

Some shops/restaurants may take dollars at the airport but outside of that and a maybe some of the larger hotels in Cartagena - everything is pesos in Colombia - don't expect people take dollars or Euros.
