Nightlife and Daytime recommendations in Punta Del Este?

I will be in Punta Del Este with friends the second week of January. We will be there Monday through Friday. We are 4 guys around 30 years old. We will be staying in La Barra. We are looking for nightlife recommendations for each night, and for daytime party/beach club recommendations for each day, which places are the best hotspots for each day/night of the week? Even some great restaurant recommedations would be helpful too. Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you!

You will find that Punta del Este is different from most beach resorts, in that the best nightlife is found at private parties. There are really few "clubs" for people your age -- more for the younger crowd. The top club is Tequila, if you want to look into it. You will get invited to parties if you simply act nice and meet people. Understated sophistication goes much farther in Punta than a hard come-on.

The best beaches are the two (Brava and Mansa) in Jose Ignacio, Bikini in Manantiales, Montoya, Chihuahaua (clothing optional, near the airport the other side of Punta from La Barra), Playa Mansa near La Serena (other side of Punta again; recommended for the view of the peninsula and Isla Gorritti). (Note: Punta has Brava and Mansa beaches, as well as Jose Ignacio.)

The best place for lunch on the beach is La Huella on Playa Brava in Jose Ignacio. Gourmet Magazine on line has rated it the best seaside restaurant in the world. It is also perfect for sunset drinks and for dinner. Do not miss it. Go early in your stay, as you will go back more than once.

Great outdoor restaurant in the woods in near Jose Ignacio -- Mirasmo.

Try Citrus in Punta right on the point of the peninsula, near the port -- upstairs, views, good sushi as well as other food, interesting place after midnight.
