Difference in price quoted and price charged

I have been using this site for many years and have never been disappointed. Today I am totally frustrated & disappointed. I booked a four hour tour viator on a Punta del Este shore Excursion which was listed as $64.77 Canadian and I was charged $508.94 Canadian on my credit card.from viator . I have tried several times to cancel to no avail. Needless to say, I will not be using their site as frequently nor booking again with viator

On the Viator site there's a price chart that states that the 64.77$ per person price is for groups 12 to 15 people. If you take the tour by yourself, the price is 508.93$.

Click to view the calendar and then click on a date and the details will pop up.

You're honestly posting on the wrong forum. This is a destination forum.

For issues like yours, if you need any assistance, post on the Support Forum: https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowForum-g1-i12…

However, Viator is the seller; so you should call them up. You'll find contact information for Viator also on the Top Questions (right column) of the Support Forum.

"If you cancel at least 4 day(s) in advance of the scheduled departure, there is no cancellation fee.

If you cancel within 3 day(s) of the scheduled departure, there is a 100 percent cancellation fee."

You weren't booking for right now, correct?

@Monsieur, where do you see that minimum cost chart? I can't find it, but what I do see is if I enter 1 person and check availability, there is two huge orange sign to confirm and twice the total cost in large numbers.

Just in case this is useful for the OP. I came across instructions for cancellation of Viator bookings directly on TripAdvisor https://www.tripadvisorsupport.com/hc/en-us/…

Expat, on the Viator page, if you click on "View price calendar" and then click on an available date, the price chart will pop up. This only seems to work on a computer. I could not reproduce it on my phone.

Hopefully, the OP will be able to cancel the tour and give us an update.
