Nakhal travel agency, Beirut, Lebanon

We joined the Easter tour to Jordan (by bus) organized by Nakhal and that was the worst experience we ever had. There were many basic mistakes in every part of the trip. Among the passengers there were many kids (less than 10 years) and many elderly persons. All along the 6 hours journey from Beirut to Amman, no technical stops were scheduled, bearing in mind that toilets at the borders were extremely dirty. Even during the following days tours, stops were badly managed and we always eneded in the place that, apparently, is more beneficial to the agency. On 2 occasions, lunches were offered at about 5:00 p.m. On the 2nd day some passengers reached their hotels at about 9:00 pm, others at about 11:00 p.m and the latter (kids and elderly included)were contented with the left over of the buffet. Some passengers ended in hotels other than the ones agreed upon and comparatively the switch was miserable.....Just imagine exhausted people (kids and elderly included again) who have been on the road since 7:30 a.m eating cucumber at 11:00 p.m, just because that was the only thing left on the buffet and their was no nearby diners..

What was most disappointing was the undecent and unprofessional attitude of Nakhal; there was simply no response to the many complaints (evidence proved) and there was no attempt what so ever to compensate, at least morally, all passengers of that tour..

Unfortunately that is Nakhal these days.

I have heard many horrible stories about the bad service of Nakhal and that is unfortunate because they are one of the oldest travel companies in Lebanon and they used to be the best.

We had been recommended Nakhal travel agency for sightseeing tours and had booked a day trip for a family of four to Jeita Grottos, Byblos and Harissa during our recent weekend in Lebanon. Nakhal´s e-mail confirmation had promised us that we would be picked up from the hotel reception by the bus in the morning. Sadly, no bus appeared and when we called the agency after a long wait they had clearly forgotten all about us, offering a number of replies varying from the bus being on its way, the bus had been there but not found us, we had booked a different trip etc. We finally managed to catch up with the bus a third-way through the tour, where the guide rudely told us that it was not her problem if the agency had made a mistake as she was just free-lancing for them. At no point during the day did the agency call us back, apologize or acknowledge any responsibility for the muddle. Their only concern was that we should pay the full amount. Our impression of this agency is that it is unprofessional and does not understand the first thing about service-mindedness.
