Visiting the Cedars

This will be our third trip to Beirut. We have done Byblos and Baalbeck tours and now as it is winter, my wife would like to head to the mountains and see the Cedars and snow.

This time there will be four of us and we only have the weekend, arrive Friday, depart Sunday.

So, is going to the mountains practical with this schedule? Would it be better to spend the two nights in the mountains rather than one each Beirut and the mountains?

Can we truly do a day trip from Beirut, or will we be spending the whole day in the car? I do not have a good feel for how we get there and the time involved.

Hi Lesley,

None of the hotels publish its prices on the internet, but at the Cedars I would recommend Hotel St Peter . ( Hotel St Bernard is also well located).

Thank you very much. It's difficult choosing from the list. I had chosen Le Cedrus. I don't know what it's like.

Also, could you tell us what the weather is like in the mountains in late October?

Hi Gaby

I forgot to mention: we are not so worried about price. We just want to stay in the best hotel, because it's only for one night.

What do you think of Le Cedrus?

10. Re: Visiting the Cedars

Hi Lesley,

Le Cedrus is also a good hotel located in Bcharreh a 15 minutes short drive from The Cedars (The Cedars Ski Resort and the Cedars Forest).

Snow begins to fall end of November sometimes mid December and the ski season begins end of December. In late October in the highest mountains of Lebanon it begins to rain and it is cold. (Temperature might fall to around 5 - 10 degrees Celsius).

Best regards

Gaby
