Anyone know roughly how much this will cost? Do airport taxis have meters or do I have to bargain? Thanks.
There are 10 kilometers between the airport and Pasteur Street, with a metered taxi it costs around 50,000 LBP between the airport and Pasteur Street (1USD=1,500 LBP).
Best regards
no they don't have meters, taxis in Lebanon don't have meters, so its better if you pre book a taxi, and its always a good idea to bargain
Hello
In addition to the post above .... How can I prebook such a taxi?
Many thanks :-)
Airport taxis are the only taxis in Lebanon that are metered, they always wait at the airport for passengers.
You can prebook a private taxi such as Allo Taxi, Charlie Taxi, White Taxi etc... by emailing any one of them.
Best regards

What are forum guidelines? Edited: 5 years agoIt would be good idea to download the app of a local taxi company that is very reliable called allo taxi
Hello, I would avoid the airport taxis if you can. Their metres are rigged to double the number of kilometres that you are charged versus that which you actually take, so you are charged double the price it should be. Appalling that anyone's welcome to this country should be marred by such a scam. Allo taxi is a much better alternative.
