Changing Scottish pound notes

I was planning on taking £ Sterling and changing it to kip when we arrive in Vientiane. All of my bank notes would be Bank of Scotland - I've had problems changing them before in other countries. Should this be OK in Laos or would I be better trying to get some English notes instead?

Thank you.

Go to your bank branch and ask for English Notes. Scottish Notes are not accepted anywhere I travelled in SEA (or in Turkey).

Branches should have English notes. Otherwise some ATMs will give English notes, as far as I know this includes NatWest and Santander.

Also, make sure you tell your bank your travelling, so your card is not getting blocked when trying to use an ATM.
