We will be traveling to Thailand this November and looking for cooking classes for our family of 5 with three kids ages 7, 9 and 12 along with my sister and boyfriend. Thanks!!
Don't do Asia Scenic Cooking Classes. I did the farm day class. The teacher just says "cook with your emotions" whenever you need guidance for chilli or spice amount and over reliance on commercial fish sauce. Mega sugar. This place gets some rave reviews, have no idea why. I thought it really disappointing and would advise you against this one.
My very good friend has just return from their fourth trip to Chiang Mai with their three children - 17, 15 and 11. They have been going to Siam Thai Rice each visit and absolutely love it. They are very good with the kids. A Lot of Thai is another highly recommended cooking school. I think you will find most get good reviews so you won't make a wrong choice.
I can recommend A lot of Thai. Have done about 5 classes with Yui over the years and always enjoy her classes.
WE love Thai Farm...was a great day...
Another vote for Thai Farm,, fantastic day
Also meant to add - have a look at Siam Home Cooking with the wonderful Nancy. Very experienced and personal. Nancy has just opened this fairly new business after running another successful cooking school for many years. I believe there could be a free massage thrown in with the longer program.
I loved Benny's Home Cooking. There were 2 young boys in our class and she was so sweet with them. I loved the napping spots in her garden, as well, which really come in handy after lunch (and could be helpful with children)
