Golden triangle + Udaipur and Jaisalmer?

Hi

I am travelling to India with my husband ( he is visiting for the first time) in October for 10 days. We are planning to fly to Delhi and start our trip from there.

So far I think our itinerary is as follows:

Delhi - Udaipur via train - 2 nights

Udaipur - Jaipur - 2 nights

Jaipur - Agra - 2 nights

Agra - Delhi

I am not sure whether we should try and fit in Jaisalmer/ Jodhpur as have never been to Rajasthan.

Also could anyone recommend a good heritage hotel in Udaipur/ Jaipur withing £100 a night

Any suggestions would be most appreciated

Jodhpur may be easier to fit in, as Jaisalmer is a Looong way out. We enjoyed the fort and the Bishnoi villages excursion

As regards U/|J, consider Hibiscus guest house in Udaipur and the Dera Rawatsar in Jaipur - we liked both.

2 Ac is good class to travel and will be comfortable. You can look in to following ity. and sequence- Delhi> Jaipur> Udaipur by road to Jodhpur> train to Agra.

02 AC is good and safe class, Heritage Hotel suggestion - Udaipur - Udai Kothi /Jagat Niwas , Jodhpur - Ajit Bhawan/ Ratan Vilas/ Ranbanka, Jaipur- Umaid Mahal/ Alsisar haveli / Samode Haveli.

Itinerary : Delhi - Agra - Fatehpur Sikri- Jaipur-Johpur-Ranakpur-Udaipur - Delhi

Looking at the map of Rajasthan - Jaisalmer and Jodhpur are a long distance so wondering whether we'll be able to fit it all in in 10 days.

i guess we can always go back and do that another time..

Going with heritage hotels for Jaipur/ Udaipur for sure..

Another suggestion was Delhi - Agra - Fatehpur sikri - Pushkar - Jaipur - Udaipur

Not sure about Pushkar as mainly temples and lakes again..

10 days is enough for covering Delhi (02 days )- Agra ( 01 Day) - Jaipur (02days)- Jodhpur ( 01 Day) , Udaipur ( 02 Days ) Delhi -01Day. If you compare Pushkar with Jodhpur , certainly, Blue city Jodhpur is much better.

See my review on this one - Western style, perfectly decent place, on offer now at £55 - £70 a room, a night, incl breakfast. Also shops etc just across the road if you want to stretch your legs.
