What do you mean by enter Ethiopia??

Do you mean leave the airport to explore the city?

If both flights are on Ethiopian and you go out on first available flight, then you will get free hotel room and bus to it. No need for visa in that situation as they stamp your hotel voucher.

If you stay in the airport no visa needed.

If you are not going out on first available flight...and you chose that, you might need a visa to leave the airport...

Then getting visa may depend on your nationality...

So sorry ....but to advise you fully we need flight times, airlines, and you're nationality.

I am assuming both flights are booked on the same ticket...I ask that as the flight to Cairo at 0415 is on an Egypt Air plane but codeshare with Ethiopian.

George as far as i can see you are ok. to get a free hotel room...but there are 3 conditions

ARE Both flights are on Ethiopian..yes

IS THE Stopover is more than 8 hours...y...I am not sure about this...

ARE you going out on first available flight?????? I am very unsure on this one.....ASK whoever you booked with.....

IF you meet the 3 conditions you will get a free hotel room and no need for visa.

BUT if not you would need to buy transit visa IF they still issue them

You would not be entitled to a tourist visa on arrival due to nationality.

Sorry i cant be more sure. You can try asking the airline in Khartoum. They will be more helpful than the Ethiopian Embassy.... usually.

JJB

Assuming both flights are on Ethiopian and you are on first available flight out to L.then you will get free hotel.

Ask at first check in.

No visa..they stamp your hotel voucher or second boarding pass...
