So... where did the thread go?

I know the lady was asking a question on every forum she could think of. Nevertheless, I spent a lot of time researching some places she could go to fulfill her wishlist, impossible as it was. Club Med, Hawaii, Tahiti, Maldives... and even Paya Bay (clothing optional)/.

And then the whole thread disappeared.

Wish I could have been warned beforehand so I could have copied it and have kept it for the next person who has a wish list!

Feeling gyped........

Well, that is odd. Even if she had decided to delete the original post TA wouldn't have tossed the whole thread... Would they?

Paya Bay would never have worked..sure no kids but very little of anything else she wanted.

I have never stayed at a Club Med but I understand they are much like cruise ships in that anything you could ever want is at your fingertips. What about Sandals resorts, how lux are they?

Sandals are 5* Includes everything, even scuba diving. However, they're very $$$. Sometimes they have deals on their website. A good price but you won't know where you're going until after you book it. I'd love to go the one in Grenada someday.

Woah! I had never heard of Sandals, so I went to snooping around their website. Granada is doing a "special." Oh, my goodness! Most expensive room was $1997 per night per person.... now, it's knocked down to $699! What a "bargain"! The cheapest, er... least expensive... was $654, now $229. And everything in between. With your own infinity pool (or plunge pool), dining, wining, golfing, diving, excursioning...... Definitely not a place for kids. I wouldn't be surprised if they have wifi on the beach! LOL Sounds like a great place for a 28 year old to celebrate her birthday with her boyfriend.

Hope the chain never comes to Roatan! Would hate to see all the prices on the island going up!

Meanwhile..... I heard Wyndham Resorts is taking over Parrot Tree......

Livesimple, choose Maldives carefully. Each resort is an island of its own. On some of the islands, the coral is dead, along with no fish. And they feed sharks in the evening..... so be careful when jumping into the water from your water bungalow!

""Would hate to see all the prices on the island going up!""

Oh, good golly gosh, I'd sure hate for you to see that happen. I certainly have since the very few changes since 1984 that I've hardly noticed... and most everyone else here didn't notice at all.

I'm right now fiddling with a shiny copper Honduran Lempira "penny" or "cent". When I first came to Honduras, the exchange rate was 8L=$1, now it's 22L=$1. So a Lempira note is worth $.05, a nickel. That penny that I mentioned? It's worth 1/100th of Five Cents US.

The OP in question block copied the same ludicrous shopping list and posted it 30x in every forum that they imagined represented the island of her and Mr Hunnybunny's fantasy week in paradise. No worse nor any goofier than most posts on TA. I have no idea why anything disappears lest some advertiser was offended.

Maldives? Not sure what experience offered dead coral and Shark chumming. I have been diving there several times and other than those pesky Whale Sharks getting in the way of my Turtle photos, yes, the Maldives really sucked.

Not.

Perhaps, Will, you were on a nicer island. Or on a liveaboard.

Snorkeling was pretty dismal around the island where I was at. No life, except at shark feeding time at 5 pm. That's why I decided to get my diving license there. :-) So much better under the sea in the middle of nowhere!

I find it hard to believe anyone bothered to even reply to the OP, at least in the Roatan Forums, considering nothing at all even came close to meeting the laundry list of requirements, that and the fact it was posted in 30-40 other destinations.

Maldives, Seychelles, Tavarua are three places that I hope to one day visit. Unfortunately, at this time, they are beyond my budget. So, I will stick with Central America, for now. Its

beautiful, and I can afford it. :).

The OP had a specific list, so thinking the DR, Jamaica, Turks or Playa would match up to her list.

mamajelli - Years ago I started saving my forum responses to common questions and itinerary suggestions in a google doc so I could continue to be helpful without typing the same responses hundreds of times. I'm sorry you lost this one - maybe retype it while it's fresh in your mind so you'll have it next time. Happy trails!
