Is seven days in Plalencia too much?

My husband and I are looking at a trip to Belize in September. We will not have a car but plan on taking at least a couple of tours including seeing the Mayan ruins and a trip on monkey river and get beach time in also. We like to just roam around also. We don't want to get bored though. Any recommendations?

I’m more of an Ambergris person. Three nights in Placencia is about right for me. Then, ‘home’ to Ambergris.

I'm no expert, but I agree that 7 nights might be too much. If that is your base, going in and out of the peninsula is also a waste of time.

Much to do in this area on land and sea -Jaguar preserve, waterfall rappelling and zip line, caves, Maya sites and horses on the mainland. Diving, snorkeling, fishing, kayaking on the sea. Your six days are up!

There's plenty to do here for 7 days and not get bored.

Agree with Katie. AC has more shopping, restaurants, and closer to the reef, but not really any ruins, no caves, no zip-lines, probably need a golf-cart, long trips to the mainland... Plus, the Placencia peninsula has Maya Beach Bistro - THE best restaurant in Belize.

Without a car, I’d say yes. We had a car and stayed seven days but we don’t mind driving to do things.

We have been here 7 days, right now and we leave in 2 days and there's so much I feel like we have missed! I don't think 7 days are enough, nor will our 9 days be enough and I wish we would have at least spent 14 days here. There is so much to still discover! It's amazing here.
