from Virginia to Kentucky - sights to see ???

coming up 64 from Va and heading to KY, continuing on 64 to KY

Anything worth seeing on the way? I don't want to stop for too long or take too long of an off-the-beaten-path side roads.

First things that come to mind....Take the Grandview Exit, 129, make a right and head to Grandview National Park. Only 5-6 miles off the Interstate. The road ends at the park. Just go to the main overlook...they don't call it "Grandview" for nothing.

On up the interstate a few miles, stop at Tamarack. Large, WV made arts and crafts (not your usual run of the mill stuff..this stuff is nice!...and pricey!) Good food in the food court too if you want lunch or dinner. Next exit past you could head about 25 miles to see the New River Gorge Bridge. Another "grand view!!" (might be too far off interstate for you though).

From the VA border to Beckley, I-64 is very pretty and (not much traffic). Rolling farm land for the most part. Beckley to Charleston is mountains. Charleston to Huntington is flat-ish. Be very careful on this stretch, please.

Tamarack near Beckley is a Mountaineer Treasure.

The dining exceeds "food court" expectations.
