Toddler friendly activities

We're going to be driving from Wilmington, NC Chicago and thinking of stopping in West Virginia (somewhere around Charleston maybe?) for a day and night. Does anyone have suggestions of where / what city to stay and toddler-friendly things to do? I'm having some trouble finding much toddler friendly stuff to do. I've looked at staying at the Greenbrier but that's above our price range. We're also open to going a little bit off the path if it's in a town that's worth staying in West Virginia.

Here is a thread from last year detailing some good options for children's activities along the interstates. Be sure to look at a map... West Virginia is a large state geographically speaking.

Camden Park is great if your toddler is 36" or taller! http://www.camdenpark.com/
