seastreak ferry

I will be taking a train from Boston to Providence. I see there is a shuttle from the Providence train station to the seastreak ferry. Just wondering if the train arrives at 11:54, is it possible to catch the shuttle that leaves the Providence train station at 12:09 and arrives at the ferry at 12:16 and then make the departure on the ferry at 12:30? It seems too good to be true but it would be perfect if it seems that those connections are possible. Any comments or guesses are greatly appreciated.

Assuming everything is running on schedule it's doable.....IMO the train would be the most important. If the shuttle is running late I would think the ferry would wait....because they run it.

You also have the choice to take the MBTA (the "T") from South Station to the same Providence Station. Depending on the day of the week you may find these times give you a little more cushion.

Are you already looking at the T schedule or Amtrak schedule?

One more point...........

If your destination is Newport, you can also take the Peter Pan bus from Boston South Station directly to Newport.

Thank you. Guess we just thought the ferry would be scenic and different, we are from the Canadian prairies. I will look at the bus schedule because convenience is worth a lot.

It seems doable assuming the train is timely, the train station to the ferry terminal is really quite close. Getting to Newport by water is a great idea, maybe call the shuttle company and ask their opinion. Or just take a cab from the train station, nearly a half hour is plenty of time for what should be no more than 5 minute ride.

Thanks everyone for your help. We decided to take a later train from Boston and then the 3:30 ferry with an hour in between. Looking forward to it!

Not sure when you are planning to go, but this week 6/19 the ferry is out of service until at least Friday for repairs.
