Family stopover suggestions

Hi,

We'll be driving through the state 1-94 with 2 kids 13 and 11 from Minneapolis to Moose Jaw, Sask. and are looking for a halfway point to spend the night and break up our trip. Never been to North Dakota before and will need a pet friendly hotel. It would be fun to do some outdoor stuff.

Thanks, Corinne

Bismarck might be a good halfway point. If you are traveling this summer, perhaps the kids would like to stop at Raging Rivers Water Park in Mandan (just across the river from Bismarck). In Bismarck, you can also enjoy a ride on the Lewis and Clark Riverboat or a visit to the Dakota Zoo. You might also enjoy a walk along the Missouri River and a stop at Keelboat Park. This is a great paved walking/biking path with historical markers and replicas associated with the expedition of Lewis and Clark along the way. All of these ideas and more can be found on our website: www.NDtourism.com. You can also find a list of pet friendly hotels by using our "Where To Stay" search feature.
