Need help planning 1st time trim Nov or Dec!

We are planning a to visit NC (driving from FL) sometime between end of Nov and middle of December. Will probably dive up on a Thursday, stay Friday, Sat. and Sunday, and drive home on a Monday.

What are the best places to see this time of year? We love nature and unfortunately I know we will be too late for the fall colors. I have been on the Blue Ridge in fall and it is breathtaking, and I have driven through NC many times, but my wife has never been. We also enjoy music, food, arts, etc. so Ashville sounded interesting as well. Wouldn't mind just staying in some really scenic place for a few days and just relaxing and enjoying nature though. Rather than search blindly for what is good which time of year, thought I would post it to the forums as I know there are always nice folks willing to help out with their knowledge and love for the location. Thanks

I suggest staying in a cabin in Maggie Valley NC. An hour away from Asheville and a half hour away from the National Park. Great location. Check out vrbo.com for a cabin.

I hope that these websites will help you find your perfect place. Maggie Valley is very nice, but you will not have much to do that time of year. Good relaxation.

Below are additional suggestions to give you something to think about.
