Looking for secluded cabin or chalet for a week vacation

Hello... I am looking for a 3 to 4 bedroom with 2 or more bathrooms cabin or chalet that is secluded/ private that is within walking distance of a fishing pond, lake, or river. It will be for a family of 5. We are looking to stay from March 10-17. And are willing to pay up to $900. It doesn't matter the location in North Carolina. This will be our first visit to North Carolina. Thanks for looking and suggestions in advance.

Try vrbo.com. There are tons of offerings all over NC, but you'll need to narrow things down a bit first. NC is a large state!

We are thinking of staying at the Watershed cabins in August. Moonstruck seem sot be our favorite. Have you ahd any issues with the cabins? Everything working, cleaning , supplies etc. also I noaticed they have a $600 security deposit policy. They require a check. Have you ahd any delays or problems in receiving that deposit back?

we've rented from Watershed for about 8 years, usually once a year. The only issue we've had is a driveway that was a bit too steep for our Prius (we left it at the bottom of the drive). I don't remember doing a security deposit, so I'm not sure about that, but we've had no problems with them-the phone reservations people are very helpful.

Please note that it is rare that anyone staying at Watershed actually pays the security deposit. We offer an option to pay a Limited Damage Waiver (LDW) fee in lieu of a posting a security deposit. The $10/day fee is non-refundable, but means that you don't have to pay for accidental damage up to $1,000 as long as it is reported (see complete details on the Watershed Cabins website). However, if you do opt to pay the $600 security deposit, by renting from a real company (no offense to vrbo is intended) in NC, the company should be licensed by the NC Real Estate Commission and keeping security deposits in a trust account. Rent from licensed companies and you virtually eliminate the risk of someone keeping your security deposit unfairly.

We did rent from you and staying in the Sunrise Ridge. Wanted Moonstruck in the worst way but the only days already booked in August are the exact ones we wante. Looking forward to our stay. First time a vacation in the mountains. Your CO. has been great and detailed so far.
