Brno for a few days

So I will be in Brno for 3/4 days in early September. I was wondering if this might be quite a long time to spend in a city of this size and I'm thinking of a day trip to Olomouc. Would you recommend this or to see somewhere else or do I need the 3 days to explore Brno. It'll be my first time in the Czech Republic and Brno so maybe you could recommend any local dishes and drinks to try and some sights not to miss in Brno? Where I'm staying is about 5 minutes away from the centre by tram, would it be possible to get a transport ticket for these few days? And what type of weather should I expect for this time of year?

Have a look at this for a starter https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowTopic-g274…

Three days is actually not long enough - five days minimum, but I am still discovering things 25-odd years later.

It has a population of about 400 thousand and is quite spread out, but the centre is compact. However many people make the mistake of just staying in the centre, when in fact most of the really interesting stuff is in the suburbs, as are the best pubs/restaurants. There is something for everybody, but is is especially famous for its inter-war functionalist architecture which can be mainly seen in the suburbs of Černá pole, Stránice and Žabovřesky.

There are lots of great pubs, Blahovka is probably top of the list. It serves the best Plzeň in the country and you can easily spend a few days just in there watching the world go by https://goo.gl/maps/xFraSJMozmm

Weather - difficult to forecast, it might be very warm, or might start to cool down, you'd need to check closer to the time.

Download the book in www.brnonow.com for lots more information. It's a great city, enjoy!
