midweek break with aunt

My aunt will be visiting Scotland from USA in late June/July and she would particularly like to make a short visit to Prague. I've read a bit on here about stag groups and large crowds. Does midweek have a different atmosphere to the weekend?

There is not very big difference during the main season.

General advice to be out of crowds ( it works sometimes):

Charles Bridge - early morning (before 9,30 - 10 am).

Prague Castle in the afternoon ( after 2pm) or early morning (9 am next to the entrance to St. Vitus Cathedral).

The Old Town - morning time, before 11 am.

Don´t walk just the main streets ( Karlova, Nerudova ) and you can find the quiet places also during the day.

Have a nice stay in Prague!

don't worry about stag crowds ,they are few and far between theses days.

Tourist crownds can be quite daunting and following Hana;s hekp will make things a bit bettermunfortunetly with Prague being such a popular toursit destination you really can't avoid the crowds.

helpful guidelines from Hana

at the same time, of course, there are so many lovely parts of Prague that tourists don't go to and thus they are not crowded

As Hana says, Karlova and Nerudova can be a complete nightmare in the middle of the day -- those streets are best early or late
