Harry Potter Studio Tour

We would like to go to the Harry potter studios for a visit and understand that the tour takes about 2 hours? Is that right? If so what else is there to do to make up most of or pat of a day as we would travel up and stay overnight?

There is trip report thread on here now from claire c, on day 3 they went to HP studios and stayed for 6 hours.

You need to travel there and back using trains and a shuttle bus, so this adds time to your day as well.

Three to four hours is typical plus an hour at each end if you're travelling from/to London

The tour goes at your own pace so you can zip through if you are in a hurry or you may want to stop and take lots of photos, there may be a special exhibition to see, and you may need to queue for opportunities to "fly a broomstick" against a green screen etc. There is also a large gift shop after the tour.

I'd be surprised if it only took you two hours, and as pp noted, you need to factor in travel time to and from your accommodation.

Two hours is very fast. At least 3-4 is more typical.

I would allocate at least half a day. Will you travel from Somerset and back in the same day or do you want to overnight in London? I'm sure the regulars here can give you better advice than I can, but we spent about 3-4 hours at the studios.

You do know to book well in advance for the Studio Tour - especially if you are travelling during school holiday periods (if you are thinking this summer, first date with availability is currently Monday 28th August).

They do NOT sell tickets at the Studio entrance under ANY circumstances - even if they get a load of no-shows on the day.
