Jim Jim and Twin Falls

We are visiting these falls as part of an AAT Kings 3-day tour in June. While I have a pretty reasonable level of fitness doing quite a bit of walking my balance isn't the best and having read some reviews of accessing the falls am wondering just how difficult it is and if there is a place to wait if I don't go all the way in. Dont want to miss the day staying at the hotel!!

Definateky go and see how far you get . There are many shady spots to stop and sit.

Twin falls is far easier as well and a little boat trip.

At one time people would float up to Twin Falls as there was no path but some fresh water crocodiles didn'tlike being disturbed so they "attacked" the lilos. Think you have to now use the boat. The walk from the car park to the base of Jim Jim falls is over level ground but afew rocks to clamber over nothing too hard. The last section may be awkward if you are not too steady on your feet but there are trees to rest under if necessary.

We have just come back and the Jim Jim Falls were still closed after the wet season. I hope you get to see them.

Normally Jim Jim Falls track is closed to around mid June or July due to high levels of water in the creeks and not to damage the track.

We were at Jabiru around the 22/5/18 and one of the tour guides had just been able to access Jim Jim Falls for the first time this season! Please correct be if I am wrong. We didn’t try to go there as we had a hire car and there are dirt roads!

It only would have been accessed for the first time to put croc traps in etc and begin to clear up from the wet season waters.

The problem with Jim Jim and Twin Falls is creek crossings, not simply dirt roads.
