Margaret river

Planning a two night stop over in MR with my husband and 6 year old son in April next year. We aren't wine drinkers so we're wondering what are the must dos and suggestions on where to stay would be appreciated. Thanks

Plenty of things to do that dont involve wine.

Its a foodie haven for starters.

Then there are the stunning beaches and accompanying sunsets.

The caves.

The Eagles rehabilitation park - http://www.eaglesheritage.com.au (6 year old would love the flight displays).

Short drive down to August to the southernmost lighthouse in WA at Cape Leeuwin.

Short drive north to another great lighthouse at Cape Naturaliste (and Ngilgi Cave is nearby and its hands down the best in the state).

Lots of info here on what else takes your fancy as well as accom http://www.margaretriver.com

1. Visit at least one of the famous Caves from the three most visited, (Mammouth Cave, Lake Cave or Jewel Cave). All off Caves Rd.

2. Visit the Lighthouse at Augusta in the South or The one at Cape Naturaliste in the North.

3. Aboriginal visitors Centre

4. If you like beaches, try Eagle Bay near Dunsborough off Meelup Rd. Also Yallingup Beach, and Hamelin Bay.

5. Drive down to Prevelly and watch the Surfers.

Margaret River is approx 100km North to South so its easy to get about in a Car etc.

Hope this helps.

Stay in Dunsborough. It is closer to the beach, lots and lots to do with kids and it is only a short drive to Margs. Dunsborough has a big watermark/ funpark Xscape at the Cape

https://www.facebook.com/XscapeAtTheCape

they have Simmos Ice cream fun park with a real emu that the kids love. https://www.facebook.com/simmosicecream

Country life farm. https:/…217444808279181

you can feed all the animals and there is an indoor play centre with ball pit etc. So much to do there.

Dunsborough also has an indoor climbing place. Not far to Yallingup maze and horseriding and the caves.

If you are there for Easter, go to Laurance Winery for Easter day, Great food and the Easter bunny is there. Face painting etc.
