What to do for the ladies

Hi we are a group of four couples from Sydney staying at Launceston on the nights of 3rd & 4th and at Barnbougle Dunes on the 5th Jan 2014. The gents are all golf mad so we will be fully occupied but not sure about the ladies. What I got plan for them is as follows:

Fri 3rd am: Cataract Gorge chairlift tour

pm: Woolmers estate tour

night: Ghosts tour

Sat 4th am: Historic Walks tour

pm: golf with hubbies at Country Club Tasmania

night: casino

Sun 5th am: Travel to Barnbougle Dunes

pm: Bridport ?

night: penguins at Low Head

Mon 6th am: massage at Lost Farms resort ?

pm: travel back to Launceston airport

Would appreciate inputs. I think it a good plan but always better to have an input especially on the ? mark items. Thx.

I also think it's a good plan.

They may run short of things to do in Bridport on the Sunday afternoon. Options may include lunch at Pipers Brook winery or the afternoon in George Town which has more to offer then Bridport: http://www.provincialtamar.com.au/

And a visit to Bridestowe Lavendar Farm would be good.

We did the ghost tour in Launceston earlier this month. We found it amazingly cheesy and downright irritating at times, plus the fact that they actively encouraged photography meant that our night sight was being constantly destroyed by flash-happy snappers. The last stop was just silly (and slightly dangerous as what happened caused my husband to be knocked off balance and fall over onto me-no, it wasn't a ghost). At $25 per person we felt somewhat gypped. To cap it off, when we went back to the pub where it had started (and where it was suggested we might like to finish off with a drink) we met the staff heading off in the opposite direction, having closed up shop for the night. I couldn't recommend it.

I agree YF, but I don't know what else to suggest in the evening.

I can vouch for lunch at Pipers Brook, we've had a few there, nice inside or in the courtyard.

You could also go to Seahorse World and Platypus House, both are at the same spot in Beauty Point on the West Tamar.

This itinerary seems heavily weighted toward what the 'gents' want. Scrap the golf and spend some time with your women

Hi thanks for all your inputs. Much appreciated.

I will now include the Bridestowe Lavendar Farm on our travel to Barnbougle Dunes and Pipers Brook winery on our trip back to Launceston airport. The Beauty Point attractions are bit tricky because of its distance and location.

Also remove the ghosts tour - no need to waste our time and money. I guess just have long dinners with plenty of wine. Plenty of golf talk to bore the wives...

Yes the trip is golf based but it is the only way we can justify a many couples trip like this (especially within Australia) so we are not being so selfish as Glenn seems to think.

Many thanks.
