Here's a link that provides some information on Port Kembla and maps: cruisemapper.com/ports/port-kembla-port-5085

This link provides further details, and mentions a free shuttle: www.cruisecritic.com/ports/newport.cfm…

Google maps works well for distances & directions - not just driving directions, but walking and public transportation.

Others here on the forum who are familiar with the area will be able to give you more specific info on transportation.

Port Kembla is a suburb and yes is served by a regular suburban train.

Have a look at transportnsw.info

If going from Wollongong to Port Kembla by Public Transport, most people would take a bus, which is quicker and more direct than the train, depending on where in Port Kembla you want to go and why.

I lived in Wollongong for the first 20 something years of my life and have never once been to Port Kembla shopping centre by public transport

Can we assume that you're cruising into Port Kembla and looking to visit Wollongong? Although cruise ships enter Port Kembla Harbour, the berth is on the Wollongong side of the Harbour, far away from any train station and nearer to Wollongong CBD than Port Kembla shopping centre.

Shuttle Buses or taxi would be the best transport option if not driving.
