The Grand Hyatt no longer has a food court. That disappeared in the renovations a couple of years ago. They do have a couple of restaurants, the main one in the lobby does a huge brunch on Sundays including a desert counter. I think its an all you can eat with different chef stations cooking fresh foods. Cost is around the $70-$80 mark I think (Last time there).

The only places that have a food court that come to mind is the Australia on Collins centre in mid Collins st (the basement) and Melbourne Central shopping centre (Lonsdale, Latrobe, Swantson and Elizabeth st block) - level 1 i think. The QV Centre also has a food court in the basement (Swanston, Lonsdale street corners).

You could almost say that Degraves St, Hardware Lane and the little lane leading from Block Arcade to Little Collins are food courts.

A couple of noteworthy foodie haunts up that end of the city even without a food court....Fifteen is a mere hop & skip (no jump), tucked away down a lane (Hermes on the corner). They are (still???) doing an express 2 course & wine lunch for (I think) $25 which is very good value. Cecconis and Coda in Flinders Lane are others that might interest and both are a few minutes away just around the corner from the Hyatt.

I am looking forward to hearing all about your eating adventures MarleneRay - sounds like you have a lot planned! :)

Agree with gardenboffin about the lanes. They are superb when it comes to food! Such a huge variety. If you want to eat or just have a cup of tea or coffee, then Degraves St is the place. It's also the place to go for people watching!!

There is a small food court with four outlets at The Foundry (the former McEwens Hardware store location) in Bourke Street between Elizabeth and Queen Streets.

There was a good Japanese offering but it has just closed: the Lebanese and two quasi-Asian offerings are popular, the pizza place less so.
