I’ve recently flown with aerlingus and on my return flight home had to pay for my baggage home. Which was 100$ Each bag, 2 in total. I have contacted travel republic they have confirmed that my baggage was paid for for both flights in the total price paid for the holiday. I have emailed aerlingus about this, but haven’t heard anything yet. Has this ever happened before and was the money refunded?

The fact that you booked with a third party instead of directly with the airline is never a good idea especially if a problem arises. Each will blame each other and none will take responsibility.
I’m only guessing here but did the third party forward the money for luggage to Aer Lingus? That’s what I’d be inquiring about first. I’d want proof of that. If or when you get that proof, I’d then focus my attention on aer lingus with said proof. Aer lingus has a very good reputation and I’m sure they would happily refund you if you show proof that luggage was already paid.
With that, ALWAYS book directly with an airline. Not only will you save money by not using a middleman but you’ll only have one company to deal with if a problem arises.

What happened when we wer checking in was that we supposedly had booked easy saver flights, which I know do not include luggage, you have to add that yourself.. so I asked TR if that’s what happen, they said dey don’t book clients easy saver flights.. weather I believe this or not Hmmm!!! I have spoken to a girl from travel republic and she told me that my luggage was paid for for both flights, she sent me an email to confirm that, so when I hear and if I hear back from aerlingus with my first email I will then forward them the email from them stating it was paid for and also the receipt from the 200$. God knows when I hear from them..
Curious was your flight significantly cheaper with Travel Republuc? Could they have actually booked you the cheaper fare with no baggage allowance in error? Was there any mention of your baggage in your booking?

I would call Aer Lingus customer service and speak to someone. I found they were very helpful when I accidentally booked 2 separate flights one year. Took care of it immediately for me.
That’s a good idea. Stormy Daniels was raving on twitter about how good Aerlingus customer care was a few weeks ago.
Just a little update, got an email today asking for my address for them to reimbusrt me. So I’m guessing they gonna send me a cheque. Fingers crossed 👍🏻
