Hilton pulled out of Mount Wolsely in Tullow a good bit back
Just for the sake of nitpicking clarity, Mount Juliet was actually a Conrad, not a Hilton. It was the Mount Juliet Conrad. This is, of course, the same chain, but the high grade end. Thanks for Ferdia for pointing out the fact that it parting company with the group, as anyone needing to use up Hilton points should try and get in before the end of the month.
Mount Juliet was a successful independent hotel before Conrad/Hilton, and will, I feel sure, continue on successfully. They are having their troubles the same as anyone else - staff on 4-day week, that sort of thing - but being so well established should be able to weather the storm.
The estate is a local jewel. Anyone who has not visited should at least call in for a coffee and go on one of the lovely walks through the 1600 acre grounds.
