Travel to Northern Ireland for 10 days with 3 year old girl

We are traveling to Ireland over Easter for 10 days. We will be flying in and out of Belfast. We will be staying at my niece's place in Coleraine for the first 6 days and then plan to take the train to Belfast for the remainder of our trip. I would love some suggestions on day trips out of Coleraine or Belfast that we could do with our three year old. I have heard that Londonderry via train is a great day trip and that you can get to the Giant's Causeway and Dunluce castle pretty easily by bus? Please let me know any suggestions and the best way to get there taxi, train or bus as we won't be renting a car.

Thank you so much!

Here are a few activities for the Coleraine/North Coast area. Yes, the train ride to Derry passes by lovely scenery and I have also included a fun steam train ride at the Causeway.

If you have decent weather, the play area at the Crescent in Portstewart is good and of course, there are fantastic beaches in Portstewart and Portrush - bring a jumper though as even on a nice day, it can be cold!

Indoors, alleycats at the jetcentre is popular for a wet day morning or afternoon activity. If you have better weather, Finvoy Fun Park is a taxi ride away from Coleraine - only 6 or 7 miles.

Portstewart and Portrush are easily accessibly by bus and Portrush also by train.

Hope that gets you started on the North Coast and I hope someone will come up with some ideas for the Belfast area!

Not sure if Easter will be past by the time you reach Belfast but there are some fun days out here. Mount Stewart is a lovely national trust property although you would probably need to get a bus to Newtownards and then a taxi out. Another fun train ride to Whitehead with the Easter bunny sounds great for kids!

Hopefully there are some useful links here and you can browse to see what else you discover!

Thank you so much for the information. I think the Steam train looks really fun. My daughter is a HUGE train fan. So, that will be a fun addition to our day.
