Bus or train to Newry?

We will be heading up to Newry in a few weeks time for a family birthday. We will be going up on Saturday and back home on Sunday. We are staying in the Canal Court. Just wondering which is closer station to the hotel? Bus or train? And how far are they?

Google maps would be your best bet.

The bus station is just across the canal. The train station is on the outskirts of town, but there is a bus (free to rail travellers) to the bus station.

The Canal Court Hotel looks out across the canal to the bus station, so it's only a 2 minute walk from bus station to hotel.

As @Drumlough says "the train station is on the outskirts of town". Approx 2 miles from the Canal Court Hotel, and "city" to be precise (although as a former resident I still can't get my head around the 'upgrade' from town to city that took place in 2002).

You don't say where you're "heading up" from, but in most cases, bus will offer the most frequent option and best comnections whatever your origin. Another reason for choosing bus over train.
