Ledro valley

Hi, hope someone can help please. We are going to Riva on Monday on a Riviera Travel holiday and staying at Europa Hotel. On one of our free days we want to explore the region and are thinking of visiting Ledro Valley. We will be travelling by bus and i have found the timetable for bus 214 which should get us there and back. My questions are - where is the bus stop in Riva to catch this bus, how much is the bus fare and where is it recommended we get off to see the area. We are quite active and will take a walk but will also need place to buy lunch and visit toilet - a cafe may be?

Thanks in advance

Hi, if it were me I think I'd go to the bus station in Riva to get on the bus. It's on Viale Trento, about a 15-minute walk from your hotel.

I haven't been to the Ledro Valley but, looking at the timetable and the map of the area, there is a stop called 'Mezzolago' which is about half-way up the lake.

It may be an idea to go into the Tourist Information Centre in Riva (on Via Filzi) to ask about the bus service, cost etc., but buses are very cheap to use.

I have stayed at the Hotel Europa on a few occasions and the location is perfect. If you have some other free time you may want to walk up to the ruined Bastione above Riva - the path starts on the main road behind the hotel - where there is a cafe with wonderful views across the top of Lake Garda.

Thanks for your reply. The other walk up to the bastion is one we have already looked in to and will definitely fit that in. Will try to find the tourist information centre and see what they have there. Thanks again.
