Do both if time permits. Arezzo can hold a candle to Pistoia in many ways but not always in the dark however. Pistoia can also hold its own candle with examples of Renaissance towns. Pistoia does not take a back seat to Arezzo when a comparison with Arrzzo is attempted. Do not allow size to confuse you. Not that one is in the minor leagues for representing this part of Italy as a sample of Renaissance Italy. Pistoia can deserve as much time as the much popular Arezzo can manage to attract visitors for the same time period. Pistoia does not not have to move from center stage or take a side seat to Arezzo when people begin discussing these parts of central Italy. Both might exist in the shadow of Florence but both have their own source of sunlight. Do not neglect either one of them. Romanesque facade for the Duomo in Pistoia. San Giovanni church and Capella del Tao and Ospedale del Cieppo and Il Duomo deserve your attention in Pistaia. Not difficult to get lost there because of its smaller size .Arezzo might have more in its neatly package basket. But it is not in any way a comparison to be made with Florence. ll Duomo and its museum are spectacular and dominating in so many ways. It is not as though Arezzo has a nine inning game with extra innings for visitors to attend. Pistoia has its own game and its own starting line-up to put on the playing field for your advantage, Our first and second choice is to visit both cities and treat them directly.
Well done. Thanks very much.
