are there atm machines in oman?

We are wondering how to take our money to oman? We would normally take a debit card like a cash passport and draw cash from an atm. would that work for oman?

Certainly. There are many ATMs all over the place, including the airport and the big hotels. Probably the most well-known international bank is HSBC. As long as your card is in one of the established systems like Plus or Cirrus, you shouldn't have any trouble.

Nah, they haven't been invented there yet.

You can generally find ATMs all over the country. In some of the smaller areas there won't be as many, but in Muscat they are all over the place. Every gas station has several ATM kiosks.

Yes, Oman has been part of the 21st century for the past 40 years, since Sultan Qaboos overthrew his father. It's a modern, clean, peaceful state and well worth a visit to anyone wanting to see the Gulf. The people are kind, but watch out if you're going to rent a car, the driving is a bit insane.
