Hi can anyone tell me if there are any supermarkets close to the caravan site at Lakeland?

There is a big Booths at Ulverston, selling food, drink and household products. It has a great range of locally sourced food. The nearest of the big nationwide supermarkets are in Kendal and Barrow.

There are some good independent shops in Grange, including one of my favourite butchers, Higginsons and a decent bakery.

Is there an Asda or Morrison's nearby?

There are both Asda and Morrisons in Kendal and Barrow. The ones in Barrow are bigger but, at the risk of upsetting Barrow residents, it is not exactly a typical tourist destination. Kendal, although smaller, is a more attractive town to visit.

If you are thinking of calling on the way to the Haven resort from Scotland exit at junction 39, Shap, and continue to Kendal. Just as you enter the town Morrisons is on your left, an Aldi is opposite. Asda is at the other side of town, more convenient if you are travelling from Flookburgh.

Just so you know, the Haven is not in the Lake District but to the south and a little bit out on a limb. It will be about a half hour drive to get into the Lakes.

I don't live in Barrow, but just wanted to jump to its defence! From Flookburgh, it has a very large Tesco Extra, an Asda and also a Morrison's on offer. The travel time is the same as Kendal at 30 minutes approx. From a tourist perspective, it's not a bad option at all. The excellent Dock museum is free and is actually built inside a real life dry dock. There is a multi screen cinema, together with a decent array of shopping on offer. The Furness peninsula as a whole is worth a look, especially Dalton Zoo which is great value. The coast road to Barrow is a decent drive with Bardsea beach worth a look, local ice creams etc.
