Yes I do know what you mean about the reception staff quite rude and abrupt , stayed there last November and yes it was cold so we just went to bed (extra small beds and rooms) in our clothes we did pay for an upgrade but it was just a basic caravan , the toilet cistern came loose (snapped rusted screw) and flooded the main bedroom , asked them to fix it and went out , came back was it fixed , NO , contacted reception only to be told "its been fixed"so spent the evening and the next day walking water in and out , still not fixed when we left to come home , poor to say the least .

Thought I put a review on here last spring when we visited Haven Lakeland. Don't know what happened to that.. With family in touring caravans and motorhome. We're getting on a bit so this type of place is not our cup of tea; usually go to quiet sites-generally just a field with water tap and electric point. Weather was glorious, this was before the rain started and never stopped all summer. Reception staff at the camping areas were really nice, nothing too much trouble and they were rushed off their feet all day long. Don't know about reception for rented static vans. There's plenty for the kids to do. Very noisy naff entertainment but the kids enjoyed it. Big amusement arcade-expensive, ripoff Bingo-advise don't indulge. 'Fun Bingo', reckon they took three hundred quid in ticket sales for one game and gave away a couple of easter eggs.. Not much of a beach nearby, muddy sand and bleak. Good pubs with food about a mile away. Guess people know what they are heading for on a huge busy caravan park in't north so shouldn't knock it when it turns out to be as advertised. . Family have suggested we go to Haven Devon Cliffs, Exmouth next spring. £10 a night for us two and the caravan before May bank holiday but £36 a night the holiday week. Checked it out on Google Earth and it's H U G E !

Have declined the invite and have booked Calais ferry for £79 return and heading south for guaranteed sun (Hope).

Does anybody who has been in the touring area know if you can park next to your tent on the grass pitches. It says on website designated parking available nearby but then says parking next to pitch so unsure. I need the car next to us as my dog sleeps in it when camping. Thanks.

I would happily recommend you to go for Blenheim Lodge as it is surrounded by natural lake view where you can spend your weekend with friends, family and relatives. So if anyone is interested in relaxing.

We went last year and are returning again next week for 7 days in a caravan. We love the complex and there is so much to do in the surrounding area from Grange to Cartmell. The children had a fun-filled holiday and if the weather stays nice we will be in the outdoor pool. The staff were lovely and the entertainment excellent. Enjoy your holiday!
