LHR to Ipswich: National Express bus?

Any reason not to use this service? It seems well-timed and quite affordable. Other methods seems to require multiple changes (tube > train; train > train). Two of us traveling. Woodbridge is our final destination but it seems that a short train or Uber for the last leg would not be a problem.

Thanks.

No reason not to use it. Lots of people do (including several friends of mine)

The only problem could be delay on the A12 and the other towns it visits before it get Ipswich.but yes much cheaper than train

There's no reason not to use National Express. The coaches can be delayed, just like with any form of transport, but they are decent enough. It's all down to personal preference, really. I suspect that it would be quicker by rail but not so easy, especially with bags.

Another vote for the coach. Arriving into LHR, battling with jet lag, you don't really need the hassle of tubes and trains. Plus, you'll get to see the delights (!) of the A12, if you don't fall asleep.

The coach will drop you at a place called Cardinal Park where there are restaraunts, fast food places, cinema (movie theatre) and nightclub.

The railway station is about a 10 minute walk from there, on the other side of a river. See this map

Pavements are fairly flat but with some kerbs and pedestrian crossings including those near the Royal Mail postal depot. Depends how much luggage you have but a suitcase with wheels should be no problem.

Train should be cheapest at about £5 per person.

A Taxi from M&R (Woodbridge) Avenue or Hawk cab firms about £16. Uber may be a little cheaper.

Depending when you arrive, the bus 800 P&R service may be an option.

If arriving in Ipswich during the day (not Sunday) you should be able to use the 800 bus - this is primarily a park and ride service for two out of town car parks, but links Ipswich to Woodbridge and Rendlesham.

The Ipswich stop is a few mins walk from Cardinal Park and closer that the rail station, but journey time will be longer.

A Group Ticket, which includes two adults, is £8
