Wien Melding Train station to Hotel Erzherzog Rainer

Arriving from Prague into Wien Melding train station and going to Hotel Erzherzog Rainer. Checked forum and there was a previous post which mentions that the hotel website suggests taking tram 62 and getting off at Paulanergasse.

However, the hotel website now says:

"From train station "West" take underground U3 direction Simmering to station Stephansplatz, there change to U1 direction Reumannplatz to station Taubstummengasse. Then you walk to Hotel Erzherzog Rainer."

Am confused which is the best way to the hotel and whether it is easy to use the public transport with a large roller luggage and a backpack. Any suggestions? Also, how much would a cab costs?

Thanks!

Train station WEST is not Meidling. Take tram 62 and having luggage should be no problem. You will need Euro coins to buy tickets in the tram from a machine as driver does not sell tickets. You can also buy daily tickets or Vienna card in the underground station - there is an office during the day or machines accepting credit cards.
