Why not accessing the map on the website of RyanAir? Then you would see alternative airports such as Bratislava. Easyjet flies from London to Vienna, but ex Glasgow that appears to be a complicated undertaking.

I suggest you have a look at the route map on the Glasgow airport website. This will show you all of the direct flights from Glasgow and you can choose the nearest airport.

Ryanair: www.ryanair.com/en/cheap-flight-destinations

Glasgow/Salzburg, Edinburgh/Bratislava (SK), London Stanstead/Brno (Cz)

Easyjet http://www.easyjet.com/asp/en/routemap/

often incredible deals on Liverpool to Salzburg..

You could always check air berlin. Together with other airlines, some special deals, & often good packages (Hotel + flight, occasionally even hotel not in the same city as flight, but good deals...

I would suggest flying Glasgow to London and then flying London to an Austrian airport. There are plenty of cheap flights from London, either from Heathrow or Luton airport.

Perhaps Glasgow --> London Luton, London Luton --> Salzburg? Check out their website to look at prices. Hope this helps!

Long schlep from Glasgow to Luton, etc.....but would Edinburgh be convenient? Jet2 once a week to Salzburg, twice a week to Prague.

I would also contemplate, in case you do not find anything suitable with Ryanair to Bratislava, booking with BA, BMI or Austrian Airlines which can offer you a flight via Heathrow to Vienna. With Austrian you can have it for around 200 GBP (depending on date). Well, that eventually sounds more than Ryanair would advertize and charge but always keep in mind that Ryanair does not bring you to Vienna, And if you land e.g. in Salzburg you need to add approximately 100€ (return fare) and three hours for the train in order to reach to Vienna (and get back of course). It has been a long time that I flew with Ryanair but I think that if you do not get one of the "almost-free" tickets, then it (often) does not really pay off to accept the downsides of this airline. They add so many costs to the basic fare that the total price is often not that attractive anymore - especially if you fly to an airport not being the one of the city you actually want to visit.

Would Liverpool to Bratislava be any good? We paid £125 return, including 20kg of checked and 10kg of hand luggage with Ryanair. A prebooked shuttle with Holiday taxis cost £125 return for 4 adults from bratislava to Vienna accomodation (takes 1 hour)
