AiIrport Express vs Flybus

Hi guys - is there a difference between Airport Express (http://www.airportexpress.is/) or Flybus as transportation from the AIrport to Reykjavik? Airport Express seems to be the same price but drops you off at the hotel rather than the BSI terminal. Is one a better option? How do you get to your hotel from the BSI terminal if you take Flybus? Thanks!

There is a difference.

R.E. Flybus takes you to BSI bus station, and from there with a small shuttle for extra 500 Isk. So total 2500 Isk. for all the way to your hotel.

Airportexpress takes you all the way (or to the nearest corner) for 2000 Isk.

Then there is the third company: http://shuttleservice.is/?target=home

I've used Flybus and brought a return and did not have to pay extra for the small bus to the hotel unless they've changed it in the last 8 months

Airport Express is advertised cheaper :

Return transport to hotel by Airport Express is Kr3500 per person

Return transfer t ohotel by Flybus (using Flybus+) is Kr4500 per person.

Is there a catch in this ? Is one better than the other ?

Just took Airport Express to and from the airport. From talking to fellow guests at the hotel, and my personal experience, I would have no hesitance in recommending Airport Express. Its far cheaper, and there is no worrying about the BSI bus terminal. In fact, after leaving, I am actually rather confused why so many hotels and guides recommend flybus.

But, with any bus service, *plan in extra time*. Its far better to have extra time at the airport than worry about catching your flight. In my case, even with the crazy weather, everything went smoothly. But, *knock on wood*, you never know.
