Snowtubing

Hi,

Does anyone know if there's much chance of snow tubing in December, around the 18th? I see there's a park called Serena not too far from Helsinki and I'm coming on a day cruise from Tallinn (where chances of snow tubing seem slim). When does the season normally start in southern Finland?

Serena is located in the Helsinki metropolitan region. The snow cover is highly variable in the area from year to year. On the average a permanent natural snow cover has arrived by Dec 31st, i.e. some years it comes later, but some years sooner. Resorts like Serena can use snow cannons to make their slopes usable sooner unless the weather is too adverse.

The best you can do is monitoring the Serena web cam http://www.serena.fi/en/ski/plan-your-visit/webcam/ and their web site before you arrive.
